…days keeps track of all your important dates, from annual events, to days gone, and days to go, with no frills nor fluff, just quick and easy, and useful to boot…
… when was that? …how old is she? …when did they get married? …for that long? …how long do I have to wait for that? …Oh no I have to get a new passport!
…which days do you want to remember?
days is a Personal Information Manager application that stores you important dates. The application displays the date information in ascending days-to-go order, or you can instantly switch between A-Z and days-to-go. In addition, the age (years, months, and days) is calculated from the start date and today and the next event date is displayed on the main lists pages.
The application is designed for quick entry of date information (requiring only a date and optional title, notes, and user defined category). There are no built in categories, the category picker is dynamically created based on the categories you enter, which you can then use to filter the lists by category.
The main lists pages consist of three different tabs of date types you can keep track of. These are:-
- Annual Tab: Use this tab to enter annually recurring events, such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, name days, public holidays, death dates…
- Days Gone Tab: Use this tab to enter important one off dates that you would like to remember from the past, for example, Medical Dates, Quit Smoking, Became Pregnant, Dental/Health Check up, Life Events, Left School, Quit Work, Equipment Age, …
- Days To Go Tab: this tab is great for keeping keep track of important dates coming up in the future, such as Warranties, Memberships, Contracts, Legal Documents expiring, Vacations, Retire, Baby Due. Scheduled chores and maintenance tasks for example: change water/air filters, replace equipment parts, … (in these cases just enter the task once, and edit the date to the next due date when completed). After the date is reached, the list displays minus days in red to indicate how many days have past since the event was due.
Please note that each of the above tabs holds independent information in separate files, each with the categories you define within the tab.
The E-Mail Tab lets you send event details in e-mail formats within the app, great for sharing, printing, transferring, or backing up your days info.
- You can send attractively formatted HTML tables within the mail body (which can be edited prior to sending)
- You can send attachment files of tab delimited plain text, which are easily read and imported by popular spreadsheet and database applications (e.g. Excel, Access, Numbers, etc.)
- You can send Both the above in one mail.
The e-mail options also let you specify which items to include in the mail (Annual Events, Days Gone, Days To Go), and if in category filtering mode, specify whether only the current filtered category should be sent (useful for sending someone specific categories only). The e-mail will be sent respecting current sorting mode settings for each tab.
Usage Notes: the application has been designed for simplicity, ease of use, and speedy entry of data, so some aspects may differ from standard iPhone applications. The filter picker for category filtering appears on the main lists pages, so to enable select the "Filter Button" – choose the category or "None", and then press the "Filter Button" again to dismiss the filter picker. The list will be updated with the category you chose.
