Puzzle games are always fun to try and it is also a great way to expand your critical thinking skills. Focus Cube is a puzzle game that goes above and beyond to create a game that is truly challenging and making an attempt at a high score is not for the faint of heart.

Now this game is complicated so I highly recommend going through the tutorial in the game but I will try and give you some idea of the game here. The object of the game is to stack cubes of the same color. One you have two cubes of the same color stacked they will disappear and you will get a point. Now you must do this without ever having cubes of the same color appear side by side. If they do touch then the cubes will disappear, you will get no points and you will even get a penalty.

New cubes drop down on the center of the board (there are nine black cubes.) If you match two like colored cubes side by side you will get a penalty of losing one of those black squares, if you end a cube on one of those black squares both the cube and the square will disappear. The game ends when all nine black squares are gone.

Now here’s the difficult part. The cubes move by rotating. Each time a side of the cube touches the game board it turns white, no side can touch the game board or another cube more than once. If it does the cube will stop and turn solid white, this can be a problem if it stops in the wrong spot. When you have placed a cube where you want it (without matching it) you touch the black center squares to lock it in place, the cube will then turn solid white.

The game then becomes a work of immense concentration and memorization as you have to remember which color cubes are where and how to get there in the right number of moves.

I will tell you right now this game is hard and yet it still manages to get addictive. I refused to let this game beat me and yet it still managed to do a pretty good job nonetheless.

If you want to make the game a little easier until you get the hang of it, you can draw out your own grid on paper in order to keep track of what color cube is where. I tried this for awhile and then I went to playing normally and could not stop playing. I have actually been playing for about two hours and I can’t wait to try it on the genius men in my family who love working on puzzles of this sort.

This is the perfect game for anyone who wants a challenge and really wants to plan out moves and really analyze their game. I love it I think it is one of the smartest games you can get for the iPhone and a great way to really exercise that brain.
